Working From Home

The covid-19 pandemic definitely changed our life and the way we do things, to say the least. Many individuals took to working from home to reduce the spread of the virus and also protect their health and their family’s health. Working from home saves many of us the time traveling to and from work while also giving us more time with our family but it can be stressful. Many parents and guardians felt the stress of trying to keep up with their work demands from home while children in the background screaming for attention. So how can you keep your kids entertained while you work from home? Here are some things you could try.

If you have just recently started working at home it is important to give your children time to adjust to the change. They may not be used to seeing you home so much and they might not understand that while you work, you won’t be able to give them your full attention.

Keep a structure for those days you work at home. Plan your child’s day out. Give them time by which tasks should be complete such as a set time where homework needs to be done or a time which is dedicated to cleaning up their room. You may also want to schedule a nap time for the younger little ones, this will keep them from becoming overtired and grumpy while also giving you some quiet time to really get that work done and dusted!

Have board games, colouring books and crafts at the ready. Having a prepared box full of colours, paints glitters etc. Allows children to easily be working on a project without having you find them all the tools to begin.

Working from home can be stressful when children are around but keeping them occupied will allow you to get your work done!
