Hand print cut outs used to make arts and crafts

The pandemic has definitely taught us a lot and with many of us having been confined to our houses with limited outdoor time, we have really had to find alternatives ways to entertain ourselves and more difficultly our children. An iPad and cartoons can only suffice for a while until we hear the words ‘I’m bored’ usually followed by an outburst of attention-seeking behaviour. Although restrictions have been lifted and we may be able to leave the house more freely, it doesn’t mean that the hours we do spend inside have to revolve around technology.
So how can we keep our children entertained and ourselves sane? Well, arts and crafts are our saviours!

There are so many options online that give us step by step instructions to make easy crafts. Here is one of our favourites! This craft activity is so simple to do and doesn’t require a lot of items. Children get to be creative and use their imagination while also giving you a bit of a break!

As you can see this is a simple way to keep children entertained. All they have to do is trace their handprint out and cut around the outline. They can then paint the handprint or different coloured paper can be used. Feathers and googly eyes can be used to enhance the outcome. They can make different shapes and animals from the cutout paper. This is just one of the many crafts that can entertain your kids while they are at home. We hope you will enjoy making these with your little ones and find it pretty simple to do!

Remember always supervise children with scissors and glue when doing arts and crafts and happy crafting 🙂
